G-7s 994 clumps off turntable at Peru, Indiana, August, 1950, one of few Consols left on the Chicago Division. Making room for a uniquely coupled power reverse gear, the uplift in the running board is probably the longest of any other arrangement for Consols. Note also the cylindrical air reservoir retrofitted in the 1940s (for emergency reversal of locomotive) and located above power reverse gear. (W. A. Schwartz, coll E. L. Huddleston)
