A single E8 No. 4010, with a sleeper and a B&O rider coach flying through Alderson, W. Va., at 6:35 am on the overcast morning of May 24, 1968, headed from Hinton toward White Sulphur. The Western Resort Special ran on two days a week to handle sleepers
from Cincinnati, Chicago, and Detroit, but on the other five days this little train fulfilled the role with a single car from Cincinnati that had been dropped at Hinton by No. 2 in the middle of the night. (1:06am). (Thomas W. Dixon, Jr. photo)
