The C&O Historical Society has issued a monthly magazine without interruption since January 1969, the only single railroad-historical Society to publish regularly on a monthly basis. The magazine was originally called the Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Newsletter, the name eventually changing to Chesapeake & Ohio Historical Magazine, and in recent years to C&O History.

The current magazine features color covers almost every month, and a wealth of articles on all aspects of C&O history, including steam and diesel locomotives, freight and passenger cars, structures of all types from stations to coal houses and signals, operations, marine equipment and operations, yards, cities and towns served, businesses and industries served, coal mines, branch lines, personalities and employees, officials and corporate history. Many articles though historical in nature and dealing with the actual railway, have great application to modelers and model enthusiasts. Regular columns include ones on actual modeling C&O prototype, current news of CSX pertaining to former C&O lines especially, and current motive power of CSX.

In a year’s time the member will receive about 180 pages of articles and columns on C&O history, modeling, and news, making ours one of the biggest bargains in the field.

Your membership dues of $39.00 pays for the magazine, but also gives you other benefits explained elsewhere.
